The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate citizenship and sustainability initiative. Since its official launch on 26 July 2000, over 18,000 businesses originating from over 160 countries throughout the world have participated. The UN Global Compact involves all relevant social actors: companies, whose actions it seeks to influence; governments, labour, civil society organizations, and the United Nations, the world's only truly global political forum, as an authoritative convener and facilitator.
