For the year 2026, the Italian Global Compact Network will offer an entire program entitled “Sustainability as a strategic lever for SMEs,” aimed at sustainability managers of participating SMEs.

The initiative has been created with the aim of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in strengthening the integration of sustainability within corporate strategies, in order to provide tools and methodologies for:

  • involving leadership and various corporate functions in the definition and implementation of sustainability strategies;
  • integrating ESG principles into the company's decision-making and operational processes;
  • raise awareness of the economic, competitive, and reputational benefits of a sustainable approach to business;
  • illustrate the rewards and incentives associated with ESG issues.

The program consists of four sessions, three online and one in person, which must be attended in order to obtain the certificate of participation.

  • 1st meeting: kick-off – February 26 (online)
  • 2nd meeting: webinar on the topic of engaging functions – April 27 (online)
  • 3rd meeting: webinar on the topic of rewards linked to ESG issues – May 22 (online)
  • 4th meeting: final event – September 29 (in person, Milan)

The company Quantis will be the technical partner for the course, working with UN Global Compact Network Italy on the content of the sessions.

The course has a limited number of places and is reserved for SMEs that are members of the UN Global Compact.
