The Position Paper “Digital transition fostering business sustainability: risks and opportunities” was produced by the UN Global Compact Network Italy, together with a group of 47 Italian companies participating to the initative, to provide businesses and decision-makers with a framework for understanding the digital transition, seen as a lever to strengthen business sustainability. The document highlights that digital technology is a tool, but the ultimate goal must remain business sustainability, understood in its environmental, social, and governance dimensions. If properly directed, digital technologies can generate tangible benefits for companies: greater operational efficiency, cost reduction, access to strategic data, more effective relationships with stakeholders, and greener, more circular production processes.
The Paper was presented during the 13th Edition of the Salone della CSR e dell’Innovazione Sociale in Milan.
