The Communication on Progress – CoP is the primary mechanism for participating companies to demonstrate annually to the GCO Office and other stakeholders the progress made against the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact.

Starting in 2023, companies are required to use the new model of the Communication on Progress, which is a standardized questionnaire available on a dedicated digital platform.

The requirements of the UN Global Compact reporting policy are two:

  1. Complete Online Questionnaire
  2. e-Sign CEO Statement of Continued Support

The Communication on Engagement – CoE is the tool through which non-business organizations participating in the UNGC inform the GCO Office and other stakeholders on a biannual basis about specific activities implemented in support of the UN initiative, as well as the results of those activities.

The COE must include the following elements:

  1. A statement by the Chief Executive or equivalent expressing;
  2. A description of the practical actions that the organization has taken to support the UN Global Compact principles and to engage with the initiative;
  3. Measurement of outcomes (i.e., qualitative or quantitative measurements of results).
