In 2023, UNGCN Italy launched the Working Group on Sustainable Procurement, with the aim of providing Italian participant companies to the UN Global Compact with a space for thematic insights, exchange of experiences and peer learning on sustainable supply chain management.
60 business organizations, mainly large and operating in different sectors, including financial, energy and multi-utility, transportation and food & beverage, retail & personal goods, are currently involved in the initiative.
The 2025 edition will include two meetings, both framed within the evolving regulatory environment, with a focus on the EU Omnibus package:
- the first one dedicated to social issues related to responsible supply chain management
- the second one dedicated to environmental issues related to responsible supply chain management
The 2025 edition of the Working Group is promoted by UNGCN Italy, with the support of Edison, a UN Global Compact participatin company and “Founder Member” of the Italian Network, as Sponsor, and ERM as Technical Partner.
