With the usual determination in pursuing the Sustainability Development principles, also this year Acea has disclosed its economic, social and environmental performances by providing extensive illustration in the Sustainability Report 2014, qualified with the Advanced” level in the context of the Communication on Progress.
Among the most important 2014 novelties, remarkable is the renewal of the “Board of Directors”, for the first time composed by a majority of women, and the establishment of a “Diversity Committee” along with the formal adoption of a “chart for diversity management”.

On the operative side noteworthy is the launch, with the project ACEA2PUNTOZERO, of a relevant activity of business transformation that will be based on people engagement as key success factor for the radical review of production/organization processes and technological innovation. To improve the business operation and for the protection of the environment, work continued towards higher levels of efficiency in the use of water and energy resources, reduction in the environment impacts and mitigation of CO2 emissions.
To be highlighted the progressive shifting towards more efficient lighting systems in use at Acea’s production plants, based on LED technology and the approval of the Plan for the whole transformation on LED of the public lighting system of the Municipality of Rome.
In the area of Rome Acea has supported important social initiatives, developing projects as Light. Diversity is energy, devoting special attention to the outskirts of the city, and has organized and supported international initiatives linked to the female world as the event “Never again” and “Rome says NO” connected to the ONU world day combating violence against women.
