Si è appena chiuso a Ginevra il 14° Forum on Business & Human Rights, il principale summit a livello mondiale dedicato alla promozione dei Principi Guida delle Nazioni Unite su Imprese e Diritti Umani, che riunisce Governi, settore privato, società civile e organizzazioni internazionali per accelerare insieme l'azione sui diritti umani.
Il Forum ha offerto un’occasione unica di confronto multi-stakeholder per valutare l'efficacia dei quadri normativi esistenti in materia di diritti umani e dei lavoratori ed esplorare strategie per migliorare gli impegni e le azioni, in risposta alle dinamiche globali in costante evoluzione.
Secondo le stime, il 75% dei partecipanti proveniva dal mondo delle imprese, ma è risultata carente la rappresentanza di fornitori e di lavoratori e lavoratrici, veri protagonisti del tema. Tra le tematiche emerse con più forza nella discussione, quella del living wage – su cui la maggior parte delle aziende si sta già impegnando – il legame tra clima e diritti umani e rischi e opportunità legati all’utilizzo dell’AI per accelerare i processi di due diligence.
The 14th UN Forum on Business & Human Rights, the world's leading summit dedicated to promoting the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, has just closed in Geneva. The Forum brought together governments, the private sector, civil society, and international organizations to accelerate action on human rights.
The Forum provided a unique opportunity for multi-stakeholder dialogue to assess the effectiveness of existing regulatory frameworks on human and labor rights and explore strategies to improve commitments and actions in response to constantly evolving global dynamics.
According to estimates, 75% of participants came from the business world, but there was a lack of representation from suppliers and workers, who are the real protagonists of the subject. Among the issues that emerged most strongly in the discussion were the living wage – to which most companies are already committed – the link between climate and human rights, and the risks and opportunities associated with the use of AI to accelerate due diligence processes.
